This is where you find the archives for Northumbria - at Woodhorn pit. I was amazed, this was totally unexpected. By the time I'd looked around the exhibits, I had very little time left to actually look in the archives.
I doubt I will have time to visit again this trip as I have much more to research in Newcastle.
I'd forgotten that you were going Up North to visit and do some research. Hope you find lots of what you're looking for and then some. What a brilliant idea to house the records at the old pit.
ReplyDeleteI had a great time and stayed much longer than I was supposed to. Yally was looking after Gracie and I took advantage a bit.
ReplyDeleteThe pit was great, though I didn't give myself enough time. It takes much longer than you would imagine. Still it gives me an excuse to go back. I did find quite a lot of stuff in the school records for me mam which I found a bit emotional.
