First plant your Weld. I planted these about a week ago, maybe more and I'm hoping that the green speck in the very middle is a germinated Weld seed. I've heard that Weld is very difficult to germinate and some people swear by putting the seeds in the freezer first, others, allowing the seeds to sit on the surface to receive maximum light. I, being impatient and having probably left it too late anyway, chose the latter method. If this fails there is the wild Weld growing close by.
No such problems germinating the wode seeds. After all, this is Lincolnshire - at one time the heart of the wode growing industry. This year I lost the wode in the spring as a result of over zealous weeding. These fifteen seedlings are going to be protected until their havest next June (I hope).
I can't wait to see the results!
ReplyDeleteI've just found your wonderful blog through 6 sock knit-a-long. I'm not a spinner/dyer but I love to knit socks and I have 2 greyhounds! I think your Gracie is a greyhound!?!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your photos and your home. I walk around my neighborhood and there is NOTHING photogenic about it, except in the spring when all of the trees are in bloom. Suburbs!
Anyway, I feel a connection with you, across the pond, and wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your blog and will be a faithful reader in the future.
